Exclusive Ridge Zinfandel Vertical Tasting Plus Food Pairing

Enjoy a dinner and wine tasting at the beautiful and unique art-filled San Francisco home of Jim Noe. The event starts with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres followed by dinner and tasting of Ridge Vineyards Zinfandels from 2005 to 2012. Each wine will be paired with food to complement the experience. The wine comes out of the natural cellar of a Merola Board member and will include only wines labeled “Zinfandel” from 2005 to 2012, including: Lytton East 2003; Carmichael 2004, 2009, and 2011; Hearts Desire 2011; Lytton Estate 2007 2010; York Creek 2011; Dusi Ranch 2006 2010; Buchignani 2011; Old School 2009 2007; Nervo 2006; and Mill 2012. Ridge is one of the premier boutique wine makers in California. A very abbreviated history (from their website: follows: The first zinfandel was made in 1964, followed in 1966 by the first Geyserville zinfandel. By 1968, production had increased to just under three thousand cases per year, and in 1969, Paul Draper joined the partnership. His knowledge of fine wines and traditional methods complemented the straightforward “hands off” approach pioneered at Ridge. Under his guidance the old Perrone winery (acquired the previous year) was restored, the finest vineyard lands leased or purchased, the consistent quality and international reputation of the wines established.

The vast majority of Ridge wines are alive and well after 15 years in the bottle – the zins especially hold up well.
